    S'been a while
Well, just here to give you a brief update on what the hell has been going on over the past few weeks.

Today is the small big day. Picking up the keys for the new house today, and then we move in on Sunday. Should be lots of fun. I'd imagine that we'll probably spend most of the next week slowly unpacking things around work... so much stuff, don't quite know where it will all go just yet. Fortunatly, we have an attic and a garage with attic space above it, so I think that it will all get in there....somehow.

I hope that moving day is like today. No clouds in the sky, warm, but with a nice cooling breeze. In all likelyhood, it will slash with rain. Still...we're moving into our house!!

Would love to update more, but I've got to run for the moment....

    Smile. It's Friday
The Top Twelve Thoughts of the Day
    12. Life is sexually transmitted.
    11. Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
    10. Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny. If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich!
    9. Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
    8. Some people are like Slinkies . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
    7. Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
    6. Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.
    5. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
    4. Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
    3. In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
    2. Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realise that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.
1.You read about all these terrorists. Most of them came here legally, but they hung around on these expired visas, some for as long as 10-15 years. Now, compare that to Blockbuster; you are two days late with a video and those people are all over you. I think we should put Blockbuster in charge of immigration.

The Coalition Provisional Authority are the U.S. Led interim Iraqi government. Their website is a great source of information about what's going on over there. This week however, it's gone a bit pear shaped. Look while you can.

So the bank will lend me up to 11.5 times my salary.

Shame I couldn't afford those repayments.

Housing in this country is a nightmare. I think I'm gonna buy a barge, live on the Thames, and sail into work every morning. Now that would be sweet.

    What happens when
You decide to go out to dinner in London.

In town, you can legally park almost anywhere after 6:30 p.m. Almost. Someone managed to find a parking bay that is 'residents only' until 10 p.m. Someone's car was not there after dinner. Someone had to pay £200 ($350) to get the car back.

    Air Travel
    I fly quite a lot.

Therefore, I am not really a nervous flier. Only a couple of bad experiences, until Sunday morning.

Landing into Heathrow in a heavy crosswind, I almost expired. The ride was heavily turbulent as we were coming down through the clouds, and when we got below them and could see the ground many thousands of feet below, then it got frightening. We were going up and down, side to side, faster, slower....

This is how bad it was. I counted. 9 rows forwards to the emergency exit. 6 Rows back. I'll be going back then. The crosswind was so bad that we were flying at quite an angle to stay 'straight' It's a little unnerving when as a passenger, I could look out of my window and see the runway that we were going to land on as we were coming in. I was un-nerved. Others were screaming.

I could quite happily live the rest of my life without another landing like that.
